Post Road Ventures, LLC is dedicated to improving upon the funding process. We generally know who the investors are, what they focus on, what they need to hear about and how they like to hear about it. At the same time, we make it our responsibility to know the strengths and weaknesses of every management team and business plan that we represent long before we ever introduce them to potential investors. And perhaps most importantly, we know how to help everyone involved in the process learn more from the experience than they are likely to learn without us.
This has been our experience.
Nearly one third of the equity financing for early stage companies in 2001 in the U.S. was derived from venture capital companies located along The Old Boston Post Road. Literally hundreds of millions of dollars was invested, with at least that much, probably more, about to be invested in 2002. From NYC to Boston, and at so many stops along the way, entrepreneurs and investors have been sitting down at the table each day and learning how to create enterprises unlike anything we have seen before, out of ideas and technologies that we couldnt have even conceived of just moments ago. But how do these entrepreneurs and investors find one another? How do they prepare to make the most of their time together? How do they ensure that they are communicating as effectively as possible with one another during each phase of the funding process? How do they get through the negotiation process in a constructive win/win manner? Quite frankly, most seem to stumble their way through the process. Not because they arent some of the most brilliant people in the world, for they so often are. But rather, because they have never learned how to do it better! Who has the time or experience to do so? Post Road Ventures, LLC This
has been our experience.
